Home, But....

We had a fair nights sleep at the rest area, and drove the 300 miles to Holiday/Tarpon Springs in fairly good time.  As we headed down highway 19, it dawned on me the massive task that we have to get things out of the motorhome and into the condo, get the motorhome cleaned up before we found a place to store it at for the next 3+ months (with the idea that we can take it out on some outings during that time period too.)  Needless to say, no pictures today, it was a lot of work, but we got 95% of the food, 95% of the clothes, 50% of the other essentials, and then took it over to the RV Park nearby to let it sit for the night before I attempt of complete the task over the next few days, and get it cleaned up for storage.

Then we had the saddest part of the day....dropping the dogs off at Mike and Sandy's house (Mike is Marcia's brother) since the condo does not allow pets.  At first Skruffy was excited because she remembered being there before...then it dawned on her that last time she was there that she stayed and I left....and she became very clingy.  We know she is in great hands...but still I saved her from the streets and she expects to be with me each and every day.

It is now 9:30...but just a few weeks ago it was only 6:30 to our bodies which are still adjusting from Pacific Times....something tells me that I won't have a hard time to sleep at all tonight.

    1. Thanks. And guess what we did the first day we see them after dropping them off on Thursday? Yep, we took them to the VET! I am sure they had a conversation on the way home about how unfair that was of us...but we needed to get the Vet out of the way, so when they said they had an opening today, we went for it.

  2. Wow I didn't realize you had a condo in Florida that you stay in. Poor puppies sad for them. I don't envy you having to empty the motor home. I may never go off the road just so I don't have to do that. :-)

    1. Yes, with Marcia's MS, there are certain doctors she wants to see just about every year. So I expect we will have a non-mobile domicile within the area. Since this condo was a rental, we can sell it in just under two years now without any IRS penalties. I think at that point we will find something that allows pets.

  3. Welcome home, Dave and Marcia. Long haul. Boy, you don't waste any time getting the yucky job of unpacking and cleaning done. Good on ya.' I do hope you get some downtime mixed in with all the things you have planned to get accomplished before your next big adventure.
