WHY did it take all day to drive 180 miles??? Well, when you stop to look out over the ocean, when you stop at Fred Meyer to get a few more items (someone forgot to get Coffee at our last Fred Meyer stop in Brookings), and when you Ram Promaster Camper Van by Thor gives you the "Time for an Oil Change" message...well, it is going to take a chunk of time to go 180 miles! While on the subject, we discovered Kevin's Natural Foods, which carries a number of Paleo items including Mashed Cauliflower...which is also low carb. We have now tried two of the meat dishes, Roasted Garlic Chicken and Cilantro Lime Chicken...both were good, although Marcia liked the Roasted Garlic more than the Cilantro Lime...I liked them both equally. Any, the oil change went well, the trip was good, we did not make it to Tillamook as I had hoped.

We enjoyed the drive...but by 4:30 I knew I could not make it another 2 hours to Tillamook. So I found a State Park, South Beach, which had some openings. Water and electric, and being from "Out of State", it cost us $70+. But it is a family friendly, quiet park.

Now I need to find a place in Southern Washington for a night or two.
I've been to both Fred Meyer stores in Brookings and Coos Bay. I wish we had a Fred Meyer in Sacramento!
ReplyDeleteYes, very nice stores. The Fred Meyer in Soldotna Alaska probably has 50-80 RV in the parking lot staying the night...and it has a dump station too.
DeleteI love all those bridges. Sometime I want to stop and walk them as they each seem to have their own character.
ReplyDeleteIf you have a chance, read about Conde McCullough in Wikipedia, interesting guy.
DeleteYou pay more if you are from out of state? Love those bridges. There's Thousand Trails near the border, but they are pricey. They are ALL pricey about now!!
ReplyDeleteStill a few deals out there, but YES, things are getting to be very pricey for sure.
DeleteCatching up on your blog posts! I'm behind on everything. So far it looks like a wonderful trip! Glad you're out of the heat!
