We will pass through Whitehorse on our way back from Alaska in a few months, so we are not going to explore the town at this time. Today we will be traveling less than 200 miles to Destruction Bay, then to Tok the next day. Hope we have Internet tonight and will share more pictures as we once again passed over the summit out of Skagway. Another WOW, and another bear, and some mountain goats way up the mountainside.

Whitehorse Yukon
This is just a quick post to say that we made it to Whitehorse without any problems. We were going to stay overnight at the Walmart, but there were so many doing that, and the noise concerned me...so we went back to Pioneer RV Park about a 6 mile backtrack. Should not have relied on the GPS alone to get us to the RV park from Walmart...it took us on a bunny trail and wasted an hour of our time.

We stayed at Pioneer. Went to that Walmart. Could not believe they permit that many rigs to stay there. It was evident some had been there for a while. Could not hardly find a spot to park the truck to shop.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, everybody stops at Fast Eddies in Tok!
ReplyDeleteYes, Fast Eddies is for breakfast this morning...we decided to go all the way to Tok (what a rough road that was!)
DeleteYup ... we stayed at Pioneer also. I think Walmart likes all the money the RV folks spend there. Seems to me there was a nice RV park in Tok too. That's where I got my giant stuffed grizzly bear!! Definitely stop at Fast Eddies!!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, that road between Destruction Bay and the Border is murder!!! We saw what Destruction Bay offered, and decided to go the extra 230 miles to Tok...100+ miles of which was the hardest drive I have ever taken (and I have driven highway 99 many times! way way worse!!!) Breakfast at Fast Eddies, and then I will work on a blog post...
