Cleaning Day, Greek Lunch in Coeur d’Alene

Today was the day to give the dogs a good cleaning, which I had planned to do when I clipped them, but then decided to wait.  I had hoped that this park would have more empty spaces, but it really stays fairly busy.  This meant that the best place to clean them was in our shower instead of outside.  Sorry, no pictures allowed...our dogs do expect a certain level of privacy.

Needless to say, we have two clean, and even happy, dogs.  I then cleaned the shower, and then got into the shower to clean up myself.  Sorry, no pictures...I expect an even higher level of privacy than the dogs do.

Marcia cleaned up the motor home, and around 2:15, we headed out the door for Coeur d'Alene.  What Marcia did not know was that I had found a Greek Restaurant to have lunch at, and plugged it into the GPS.  As soon as we turned on the street, and although the restaurant was a good block away, she says, "Look, the Olympia"....how did she know I had planed a surprise lunch?  She says that she just saw it, yes, way down the street....go figure.
Now the last time I tried to take my wife, who is of Greek Heritage, to a Greek Restaurant outside of the Palm Harbor / Tarpon Springs Florida area was in Little Rock, Arkansas....twice.  Both of those were, well, not very pleasant experiences at the only two so called "Greek Restaurants" in the Little Rock area.
Today she found the Olympia to be a much better experience...not as good as those she is familiar with back home, but pretty good for a "surprise lunch" while living in our home on wheels.  Fortunate for us, they closed at 3 p.m., and we arrived at 2:50.  Thursday, Friday and Saturday they are open until 8 p.m.  Another party entered just after us, and four parties tried to enter between 3:15-3:45, so I don't know if they are making the best decision to close, but it is their choice...I was just glad that we made early enough to get in.

We did drive around Coeur d'Alene a bit after lunch.  It looks like a real nice city...but we really are not out here to visit cities as much as visit small towns, historic places, and of course, "nature areas".  (better known to us as God's gift to man).  Anyway, one thing we also like to see are nice, older homes, so we drove through an area of town that had some older homes in nice shape.

One other thing we liked was throughout the downtown area they have these flowers around the light posts....a real nice touch.

After we had gone home for a few hours, we decided to go back out to see if the Elk would be around again.
We did see a flock of geese ...
And a few deer, but only one which was close enough to get a picture of...and as you can see below, she was getting as far away from us as she could at a quick pace without having to run.
Tomorrow we plan to head to the north above Coeur d'Alene to see more of what we like the best....
