FeedBurner Email Problems

image
We have been doing our blog now since March 2012.  A few days ago my dad called and told me that he had not been getting the feedburner emails as he use to, but at the time I was a bit preoccupied with driving from Houston to Fayetteville Arkansas.

Putting my Library Skills to work, I finally found out why.  It all has to do with Yahoo, my email provider, who changed their email rules to try and stop spam…but it also stops FeedBurner from sending out emails under my email name.  (just click feedblitz picture above to read the article).  From what I can tell, hotmail has also followed yahoo, because my hotmail account, the one I use to sign up for anything and everything that I expect junk to be sent to, has not received the FeedBurner email either, stopping just a few days after yahoo stopped it.  Again, this is anti-spam stuff, and I am for that.  I hate spam!

Lucky for me I have a email address to go with our web domain name, GoingRvWay.com.  Any email sent to GoingRvWay.com goes to that email address, but I advertise it as “dave” before the “@” sign.  I try not to actually write out the email address to any of my email accounts because I know that web spiders troll for addresses and sell them to spammers.  Anyway, my feeburner emails will now be sent out from this GoingRvWay address, which “should” fix the problem.

Today, before we left Fayetteville, we went to church with Ryan and Kate.  They attend Cross Church in Fayetteville, which is similar to our Calvary Chapel church, but more independent.  It was a super nice service, and it was the first time I had attended church with any of my children since a young family friend had passed away back in 2006 or 2007 back in Pine Bluff.  Cross Church had a guest worship music group today, the Vertical Church Band.

Vertical Church Band is a collection of people who play every week in places all over Chicagoland as part of Harvest Bible Chapel, a place that believes singing isn’t a warm-up for the sermon; singing is a warm-up for heaven. – Learn more here

I found this neat resource for finding Rest Areas not only along Interstates, but along all sorts of US and State highways.  Just click on the picture above and try it out.  Not sure who put this out, but it sure is a good resource.  We are at a Rest Area in Southern Kansas.  Thought about staying at a Passport America, but decided that one night at a rest area would be ok right now after having four good nights in parks.  Tomorrow we should be close to the Wyoming/Nebraska boarder….and away from the Tornado Ally where we are now…in between bad storm systems since the weather is great.

  1. Hi Dave:
Wow, I'd not seen that site, Rest Areas, before. Thanks for sharing it; it's bookmarked for use when I get back on the road. My rehab is going well; some of the exercises are really difficult but I know I need to do them to recover full use of my knee. I'll just follow along with you and Marcia - that's about as much traveling as I'll get done this week!

  2. That's a new site for me, too. I always put "Rest Area" into my GPS and it comes up with all the spots that are coming up. I'll definitely check this out, too, though because then I'll have a little heads up. :)

    1. We have two GPS units, and they don't seem to pick up the US Highway and State Highway rest areas. Whoever put this one together sure did some long, hard work on it.
